Antoine VIT was born in Honfleur, France on 1959.
From the age of twelve, Antoine was committed
to his art.
At twenty-two years old, after studying architecture at l’Ecole d’Architecture de Paris for two years, VIT was accepted to l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris where his artistic dossier won first prize.
However during the ensuing five years that Antoine remained enrolled at Beaux Arts, rather than attend formal classes he embarked on an artistic voyage throughout Europe to further develop his style.
His creative pursuits were supported by the sales of his art at the numerous exhibitions where he was invited to present his work.
A painter of light, VIT’s oeuvres are unusually varied. His expressions employ the soft lightness of pastels and the brilliant force of pigments translated into pure and impetuous colors. And they embrace the power of materials sculptured in bas-relief in which the forms emerge between shadow and light.
At each successive stage of his work, he has extended his artistic knowledge by using new materials and innovative thought while continuing to rely on techniques developed during his early years as an artist.
In 1987 VIT opened his gallery in Beaumont en Auge where his latest paintings can be viewed.
